Canva
Canva is a graphic design tool that makes the process of digital design more user friendly. An account can be created and used using a web browser or on the apps for IOS or Android devices. Canva allows for project-based learning that is easy to use and can work great for classroom use. Teachers can use it to create educational tools or presentations and students can use it to create engaging projects to demonstrate their knowledge of the content. Canva has templates to get you started or you can create from scratch. You can do group work, create mind maps or presentations, and so much more using Canva.
In terms of a history class, Canva can be a helpful tool for students to use to improve their projects in terms of creativity. There is more they can do with a tool like Canva because there is a lot more variety in what you can create and do using it.
In regard to my field of study, I really like the idea of group projects and creative based projects where students can express themselves through their project of choice. In this sense, Canva is great for that because it allows even the students who are not as creative the assistance within the app to still create really cool content. There is a lot of opportunity for flexibility and creativity in the types of assignments you can assign when it comes to history. It does not have to be multiple choice tests and memorization. There are more engaging ways of checking for understanding and Canva is a good way to introduce that idea to students.
